Slow page loads on Safari 8.0.5 with 1Password 4.3.1 extension

I'm using 1Password 5.3 (AppStore) on my computer, and I have the extension v4.3.1 installed into Safari 8.0.5. Lately page loads have been extremely slow. I've been waiting 10s+ very frequently and in many cases having to just cancel and retry or use another browser. This doesn't seem to be a problem in other browsers (Chrome, Firefox) on the same box.

These pages are often not related to authenticating. For example getting a wikipedia page or searching on google. The only extension I have installed is 1Password. Once before, maybe a year ago, the 1Password was causing slowness in Safari, but the bug was fixed. I disabled the 1Password extension to see if it was causing the slowness, and sure enough all of my page loads became sub-second!

I believe there is a performance problem with the most recent extension for 1Password in the most recent version of Safari.

    Hi @joefitz,

Thanks so much for bringing this to our attention. I have a set-up similar to you (with only the 1Password extension installed in Safari) and I'm not seeing the slowness that you mention. I'm curious: when you disabled the 1Password extension, did you also re-start Safari? Also, this might be a ridiculous question, but when is the last time you re-booted your computer? I tend to only restart my computer when it slows to a crawl and demands a rest. If you haven't re-started recently, that could be the reason for the lag in Safari.

If this issue continues after a re-start, please let us know and we'll do some further investigation.

    Hi Megan,
Thanks for your response. I wiped my browser history when I was troubleshooting, and as per your suggestion I rebooted. I started browsing around with extensions disabled and it was quick. So, I enabled the 1Password extension and it has still remained fast! So far so good. Sorry for the complaint above... it seemed very reproducible as far as disabling and enabling the 1Password extension had a big effect on page load speed... but now it's negligible.
