Installing 1Password on Mac iCloud Issue

Hello,

I purchased and started using the iOS version and just downloaded the Mac version from the website. During setup it asks if I'm new user or used it previously. I say I'm a previous user but iCloud is not an option. I have iCloud vault setup from the iOS devices.

How do I get the Mac version to setup using my existing vault on iCloud?

If you want iCloud, you have to get the Mac version from Apple's App Store, not from AgileBits web site. This is because of restrictions by Apple.

If you've "just" downloaded from the web site you might be using the trial version. This is fully functional and free for thirty days. Apple do not permit trial version on the App Store.

If you actually paid for the version from Agile, they can give you a refund since it is a recent purchase, and you can then buy from the App Store.

Many of us, including several Agile staff, are very happy with Dropbox sync, which is available on all platforms.

Hi @k_larson,

Please let me know if you have any further questions after reading @danco's post, he is correct. The version available from our site is unable to support iCloud sync, as Apple only offers iCloud sync for apps sold from the Mac App Store.

Planning to purchase iOS from app store for husband to help him learn it. He will buy new mac in a month or so. Will buy Mac version from app store also. Will 1p import all his settings from iOS?

Provided you use one of the available sync methods it will work easily. Now, since you posted in the iCloud topic, both devices iOS and Mac must be signed in under the same iCloud account for syncing to work properly.
