Help (new iPad)
Hi -- I am an existing user (since 2011) and I just got a new iPad. When I tried to open 1Password on it, it asks me whether I want to create a new vault or sync an existing one. I choose Existing, naturally. It then offers me Secrets so that I can sync over wifi. But I do not want to sync over wifi; I sync over iCloud. I thought maybe I would change to wifi so that I could at least get access to my passwords, but when I opened 1Password on my Mac, it offered me secrets to enter on my iPad -- which I cannot do, since apparently I need to enter the secrets on my iPad in order to get past the opening screen. So I have two sets of Secrets, and nowhere to enter them.
If anyone can help me get into 1Password on my iPad, I'd be very grateful. (On Mac: 5.3, from App store. On 1Pad: 5.3 Pro, also from App store. Latest systems on both. Syncing to my iPhone works like a charm.) Thanks.

@hilzoy: Thanks for contacting us. I'm sorry you're having trouble getting everything syncing between your Mac and your new iPad!
Since you've already been using 1password on your Mac, let's start there. First you'll need to set up iCloud in 1Password Preferences > Sync. Be aware that iCloud can only sync your primary vault (if you have more than one), but all you need to do is select your Primary vault on the left and then choose iCloud from the menu to the right. It may take a bit for iCloud to sync your 1Password data, but when it is done you will see 'last synced' in the window. Without this first step, 1Password for iOS won't find any 'existing data' in iCloud!
Next, do the setup process on your iPad. You'll need to choose 'existing data' again, but this time it will find your data in iCloud. You'll have to enter your Master Password to unlock it, and then 1Password will download your vault to your iPad (again, this could take a bit) and sync any changes made on either device to the other via iCloud.
I hope this helps. Please let me know how it turns out! :)

Hi, and thanks. The problem is that I can't actually get into 1Password on my iPad at all -- it just shows me this screen where I get to click either 'Create New Vault' or 'Sync Existing Vault'. (Those two options take up the whole screen; there isn't any way that I can see to do anything else.) I click 'Sync Existing Vault', and Secrets appear. Again, no option to actually get into 1Password. When I tried to switch syncing on my Mac, so that it would sync over wifi (which is what my iPad seemed to be expecting), it just gave me its own secrets, but again: there is no way that I can see to get to a point at which I could actually enter them in the iPad.
Does this make sense?
Thanks.

@hilzoy: Ah, that doesn't make sense at all, but it may after some more information. Could you tell me which iPad you have and the version of iOS it's using?
When you launch 1Password for the first time, you should see this screen:
And when you select Existing Vault, you should then be presented with this screen:
It sounds like you may have selected Wi-Fi Sync there, but you can always go back to the previous screen or force quit the app to open it again and start from scratch. Please let me know what you find. I hope this helps! :)
