Hi all,

We're about to take the plunge and get 1P on all of our devices but I just wanted to make sure in advance that I understand the licensing correctly and how many licenses we need over all.

So, my devices: mac air, iPad, iPhone, windows PC
Husbands: windows pc, iPad,

Licenses needed:
1 x Mac
1 x Windows
2 x iOS apps & in-app purchases (different apple accounts)

Is that correct? :/

Cheers in advance! :)

    Pretty much.

However, there is a Mac + Windows bundle. which gives a discount over separate purchases.

I guess you know that the iOS version is free initially, but you will probably want the in-app purchase. Unfortunately, even if you have Family Sharing set up it doesn't work for in-app purchases, so you would each have to buy.

Thanks for your reply Danco, that's what I thought for the iOS apps - but with the discount bundle I guess we'd be saving anyway. :)

    Hi @twenty8twelve,

Just to add a little to what danco has already said.

If you want to share a primary vault between all four devices then our Mac + Windows bundle is perfect for the job as iCloud support won't be important to you.

If the Mac user only wants to sync a primary vault to one or both of the iOS devices and wants to do so via iCloud then you don't want to purchase our bundle. iCloud Sync support is limited to the Mac App Store (MAS) version of 1Password for Mac due to restrictions in place by Apple. Now after you purchase 1Password for Mac (MAS) we would help you get the bundle price so don't purchase the Windows licence straight away, instead email us at support+licenses@agilebits.com with a copy of your MAS receipt and ask about the bundle.

danco is spot on about iOS. We had hoped the in-app purchase would be covered by Family Sharing but it wasn't to be. One thing to do is check out What are the Pro Features and how do I unlock them? as it might be one or both of you don't want the extra features. Then again you might have already evaluated the pro features and decided you both will benefit.

If you have any more questions do please ask away!
