Password field in a 1Password record disappeared!
This never happened to me before. I have used 1Password iOS since it came out. I have a
savings account and a credit card with the same bank. I opened up my savings account in
1Password (still like to use 1Password browser for my banks.) it said USERNAME at the top,
but there was no password field. I’ve used it before to connect to this bank account. It was there!
Then I opened my credit card 1Password record. It is set up the same as the savings account, except with all different passwords. It has USERNAME, PASSWORD. Back to savings account. The only field I have like PASSWORD is at the bottom - RECENT PASSWORDS, with 3 listings.
So time goes by. I called up my bank to see if they can help me recover the password. Some time goes by. I check again in 1Password - USERNAME only for savings. (I posted about setting up a password with this
bank here before! It was a horror!) They cannot recover my password. :( They work with me to
create a new password. 1/2 hour later l go and check the savings account password
information AND THE PASSWORD FIELD IS BACK in the record! Of course, I still have to
change it, since I did that already with customer service.
I don’t know how it happened, but I saw it with my own eyes! It puts a dent in my confidence
in 1Password. I wish I had taken a screen shot, but I had bigger problems s the time.

Hi @pellucid,
Thanks for taking the time to write to us about this issue. I can't say I recall ever hearing a report quite like it. What version of 1Password did this occur with? Are you syncing your 1Password data? If so with which service and which other devices? And what version of 1Password does each of those devices have?
Please let us know.

Hi, at the time of my post, I had whatever the latest (paid) version of 1Password was on the date of my post as well as the latest version of iOS on an iPad Air 2 . I update immediately, typically over-the-air. I sync to iCloud. I was not sharing data with any other device, although since then (2-3 weeks later) I have gotten an old IPhone 5, (which is the best ipod touch I ever had), and which I can now share my data with. I have been using 1Password since it first came out (before the name changes).

Hi @pellucid,
I was able to locate your previous discussion with us about this bank, and I think I know what has happened.
It appears the bank uses a multi-page login process, which in many cases requires two separate login items: one for the first page (often the username), and one for the second page (often the password). This would explain why you only see your username on the record you are looking at. The password is on a different record.
Thanks!

Yes it uses a multi-page login sa in username/password, and then it asks for one the answer to one of several security questions on another page, but I don’t see how my password entry was there in 1Password, and I had used it successfully, and then it disappeared? If the password was on a different record, (ignoring how it got moved) how would I find it if something nasty like this should happen again? Thanks, and thanks for taking the time to find my original comment.

Can you please try doing a search in 1Password for the domain name of the website in question? I suspect you'll find multiple records. The domain name is the bold portion of: https://www.google.com/search?q=
Thanks!

Not sure what you mean, as this bank has lots of sections. But the username and password are asked for on the same sign-in page beside the sign-in button.

What is the URL to the login page of the bank?
