Syncing iMac with iCloud

I just upgraded to a new iMac and reconnected to my iCloud but in 1Password preferences I get "Sync Primary vault with" followed by a droplets with: "None", "Dropbox", and "Folder" but not iCloud which leaves me with no options or guidance. Please let me know how to sync my new iMac with my iPhone and iPad (both connected and syncing correctly)

The first thing we need to know is from where you bought 1P: was it from the Mac App Store (which supports iCloud sync) or direct from the AgileBits store (which doesn't)? (I'm assuming you're using the latest versions of 1P for iOS and 1P for Mac in any event, although you've not said what versions you're using.)

You may find the AgileBits iCloud FAQ helpful, too.

I bought 1P from the AgileBits store a while ago and upgraded it to 1P5 when it became available. I also have Yosemite system on my iMac. Should I assume that my version of 1P 5 cannot be synced with iCloud?

    Hi zerr11o,

Unfortunately you're correct, the Agile Web Store (AWS) version of 1Password 5 cannot use iCloud sync due to us switching over to CloudKit. When Apple released iCloud Drive they limited access to iOS 8 and Yosemite. They also limited access to iCloud related frameworks like CloudKit, that we use for iCloud Sync, to purchases made through one of their stores. So for the first time we've got a distinct difference between the AWS and Mac App Store (MAS) versions. Sorry about that.

Dropbox is platform and version agnostic making it a good alternative assuming you have no objection to it. If you'd like to move to Dropbox and need help please let us know. If you have any follow up questions from any of this please do ask too
