Disappearing data??

I have 1P on two Macs (iMac and Macbook), synching via iCloud. I frequently lose login information; for example, I have two different gmail/google accounts. This morning I saw the login info in 1P on my macbook for both accounts. I went to my iMac to log into one of the accounts, and the login info was no longer there for that account. I synched manually. Went back to the Macbook, and now it's missing from there, too. Login info only for one google account -- not the one I'm trying to access.

This has happened several times -- with multiple yahoo accounts and with bank accounts. It's incredibly frustrating as I have to go back to the original site and create new passwords, which is no easy feat with Yahoo, Google, or banks/credit card companies. And I seem to do it frequently for those sites. I'm ready to give up on OnePassword.

Am I missing something? Should I trying synching over Wi-Fi instead?

    P.S. It happened again as I was trying to register for this forum with one of my two yahoo accounts! Had to re-set password with Yahoo because it was no longer in 1P.

    Hi @Maisie,

    I'm very sorry some of your Login items seem to be missing! Unless you delete items yourself, they should never just randomly disappear like that, so needless to say, this is a very odd problem. To help us figure out what's going on, can you please let us know some more details:

    • What version of Mac OS X are you running on each Mac?
    • What exact version of the 1Password app is installed on each Mac? (From the main 1Password app, go to the menu for 1Password > About 1Password)
    • Are you using the AgileBits Store version or the Mac App Store version of 1Password?
    • Aside from your two Macs, what other devices/computers are you syncing with 1Password (if any)?
    • What version of 1Password are you using on the other devices/computers (if any)?
    • If you create a new item in 1Password on one Mac, does it sync to the other?
    • When you say "I synched manually", can you please describe the exact steps you took to do that?
    • When you notice an item is missing, are you looking for it in the main 1Password app, or in 1Password mini (or the browser extension)?
    • If you open the main 1Password app, click in the Search field at the top, and search for one of the missing items, does it show up?
    • Have you checked the Trash in the main 1Password app (at the bottom of the left sidebar) to see if your items are there?

    Now, assuming you can't find those missing items anywhere, it might help to restore from a backup. First, make a current backup of your data by opening 1Password and going to File > Backup. Then, in the window that opens, you can select one of the Backup files and click the "Restore" button.
