I use the app and it is brilliant. All my logins are now super complex. What happens of I lose my iPad? Is there cloud storage of them that I can recover them?

By default, your passwords are only stored locally.

However, you can choose to store in the cloud if you wish. Either Dropbox or iCloud syncing can be set up

Note that if you have a Mac as well as your iPad then you can buy 1PW for Mac either direct from AgileBits web store or from Apple's App Store. Both versions allow Dropbox sync, but only the App Store version allows iCloud sync (due to restrictions by Apple).

  • Hi @ST777,

First I should say that the location of your 1Password data is under your control. We do not keep backups of your data. In addition to danco's excellent advice, there are also a couple of backup options available if you do not wish to sync your data.

    1. Your 1Password data is backed up along with your iPhone backups, be it to iCloud or iTunes on your Mac or PC.
    2. In Settings > Advanced, you can create a backup of your data. Then in iTunes on your desktop computer, you can use the iTunes File Sharing option to copy your 1Password backup onto your computer and include it with your computer's backup. More information is available here: https://support.1password.com/ios-itunes-backups/

Personally, if you do not sync with another device, I recommend doing both options 1 and 2. Option 1 should cover most cases, but in case something goes wrong, you have option 2 to fall back on.

I hope this addresses your concerns. Please fell free to reply if you have further questions.
