Since I installed 1password on my IPAD years ago, I bought an iMac and an iphone. How can I upgrade and get 1password running on all three devices without losing any info?

The first thing to make clear is that 1P for Mac and 1P for iOS are completely separate products. In other words, if you need 1P for Mac you have to buy it. The cost of it has nothing to do with whether or not you have 1P for iOS.

You can buy 1P for Mac either from the Mac App Store or direct from the AgileBits store. There are two things to bear in mind:

    1. If you ever want to use iCloud to sync 1P data between your Mac and iPhone you must buy 1P from the Mac App Store because the version from the AgileBits store doesn't support iCloud sync (following changes made by Apple on the launch of OS X Yosemite). Both versions support sync of 1P data by either local wifi or Dropbox.
    2. If you have owned an earlier version of 1P for Mac you may be entitled to an upgrade discount if you buy from the AgileBits store. That discount won't be available if you buy from the Mac App Store.

As to upgrading 1P for iOS, 1P5 for iOS (which requires iOS 8) is free from the App Store (accessed by your iOS device) but with an in-app purchase to enable pro features.

How you sync your 1P data will depend on exactly what versions of 1P you have running. If you're able to run iOS 8 on your iPad and have 1P5 on everything then (subject to what I said above about 1P5 for Mac and the different versions) you can use iCloud, Dropbox or wifi to sync. Things will be a little more complicated if you can't run 1P5 for iOS on your iPad. If that's the case please tell us what version of 1P you are running on your iPad and what version of iOS you have on your iPad.

    Hi @Riproarer ,

I hope that Stephen's response here has been helpful. As he mentions, you can get 1Password for Mac either from the Mac App Store, or our website.

Our User Guides can help you get started and have all the instructions you'll need to get synced up. Of course, if you have any questions, please let us know your version details, and which sync you would prefer to use, so that we can provide more detailed steps. :)
