Using coupons at App Store

I'd like to buy 1Password at Mac App Store, but I don't see any place to insert the coupon that I've. I prefer the Mac App Store because it's easier to update, it's a more trustable licensing system and etc - and I'd like to know if it's possible to use a coupon there, because $50 is a bit high.

I'm trying the coupon MacPowerUsers.

  • Hi @rodriigovieira,

Coupons are only valid for the AgileBits store. Apple doesn't allow coupons on the Mac App Store. Sorry!

    Hi @rodriigovieira,

We don't tend to get told in advance when we're having a sale in the Mac App Store but they do happen. The best bet would be to follow us on Twitter or Facebook where I believe we do announce sales when they happen. It might be soon, it could be a while - I genuinely don't know

The only real benefit to the MAS version though is iCloud Sync. 1Password will, like most applications, regularly query our server to see if their are updates. While it's true the AWS version does require a licence it's something you can always have emailed to you at any point if you don't keep the original email. Being that it's our store it also allows us to do things like have an upgrade discount, something Apple's MAS doesn't at all.

Don't get me wrong, setting up a new Mac is a little easier when for a bunch of your applications all you need to do is visit the Purchases tab and click download a bunch of times but I'm not wed to MAS. That's just my personal opinion of course and everybody has their own preference

Well, it's because my Dropbox sync has shown a lot of problems, that's why I was expecting that the iCloud sync would solve it. I also have 1Password at iOS.

Having 1Password for iOS doesn't require that you use iCloud for syncing. Dropbox works fine there too. Perhaps you could describe what sort of trouble you have with Dropbox and 1Password. It's been 100% trouble free for lots of users, including me.

Why I'm getting this error while I try to purchase 1Password?

"Your card does not support this type of purchase."

I'm using a VISA card, isn't VISA cards allowed?

    Hi @rodriigovieira,

We do support Visa cards on our store. That error is from Stripe, our payment processor.

Stripe's website gives a few reasons why you could be receiving that error message: https://support.stripe.com/questions/unsupported-type-of-purchase

Our store also has a PayPal option, which you could try instead.
