Can you add an option/preference or tell me how to change how 1Password asks for Credit Card Expiry? It currently displays for me YYYY/MM. Every credit card displays this information MM/YY. I keep a lot of CC's in my 1Password and would really like the option to modify this!! Thanks! <3 1Password and AgileBits!

I think you'll find the way it displays depends on your Language & Region settings under System Preferences in OS X. For example, my preferred language is English (U.K.) and if I go from that screen to Advanced I see (under Format language: English) the note, For dates, times and numbers. My credit card expiry dates display as MM/YYYY.

    Hi @ObjectConsulting ,

Please let me know if Stephen's post has helped you. 1Password does respect the Language and Region settings, so you should be able to get the display options you're looking for by tweaking the System Preferences. :)

Thanks for that Stephen –and I believe we are on the right track perhaps? What is weird is the difference between ENTRY and DISPLAY. So for instance when I create a new credit card when entering info for the first time is always in the format YYYY-MM even though the DISPLAY is MM-YYYY. I've attached screenshots of my settings from Language and Region (mine is set to Canada (custom) and screenshots of before and after credit card view. Thanks for the help Stephen and Megan! <3

I'm afraid this isn't going to be a very helpful response: sorry! However, I have a very dim recollection of some vaguely similar problem with dates in 1P and it turned out I, too, was working with some sort of custom setting (for English U.K., in my case). I can't for the life of me remember exactly what I had set in my Language & Region settings (it was something like English as primary and U.K. as the region) but the problem resolved itself once I set to English (U.K.).

As I say, I'm guessing that's really not very helpful but a little experimentation with the Language & Region settings may possibly resolve the issue for you.

    Hi @ObjectConsulting,

I believe we're looking at on OS X quirk here. If you were to create a new custom field of the date type, or if you're unsure how to, a test Identity item which has a birth date field you will find that the display order and the edit order for the more accurate date type is also 'odd'. If you were to then check out either the Calendar or Contacts applications you will find they display the same quirk. I don't know why but OS X is using some hidden format default that isn't editable in the Dates tab of the Advanced... window in System Preferences > Language & Region. While our Month/Year field type doesn't store the information as a date, it would seem to be taking its cues for formatting from OS X but again, only for editing.

Unfortunately customising your region settings won't help because OS X is using this hidden copy of the countries default formatting. This next part is very much me just thinking out loud. I don't believe this extends to the other sections of the region settings, such as General & Time. You may find customising the United Kingdom region and altering the General and Time tabs for better Canadian equivalents would result in a more agreeable outcome. I haven't tested this though, it's merely a thought at this point.

Ultimately though, I don't know why when you edit a date-like component OS X doesn't continue to use customised date formats when they exist.
