Since when does this need to be running (or at least in the status bar)?
Any way to get rid of it?

    Hi @tcurdt,

    1Password mini has been a part of 1Password since version 4. It's actually the brains behind the whole operation - it handles the decryption of your data both in the main app and the extension. We recommend that you keep the mini running even when the main app is closed, as it's a great way to get access to your data without having to open the main app.

    However, you can hide the mini in the status bar if you're not as much of a fan as I am. Simply go to Preferences > General and uncheck the 'Show mini app icon in the menu bar' option.
