How come 1password is now free for everybody?
Im very dissapointed to find out that now everyone can use 1password for free when I paid 10 dollars for it. Why did you do that? Just when I was starting to feel special haha.
My coworkers usually never pay for apps, now all of them are using 1password because they had seen me use it before. Except Im the only one that paid for it. It sucks. How can I get a refund and start using it for free?? please
(I know theres supposed to be a pro version, but I dont care about those features, I never used them, so I dont see why I shoud be forced to have those pro features when everybody else has the choice)
best regards

1Password 5 is now free if you want only the basic features. You will still have to pay for the Pro features. However, if you previously purchased 1Password 4 or 4.5, 1Password 5's Pro features are a free upgrade to 1Password 4 users and are automatically unlocked.

Hi @JosueAlexander,
Thanks for taking the time to write to us about this.
Late last year we released 1Password 5 for iOS, and it was a huge release for us. Normally a release of this magnitude warrants a paid upgrade, but instead of doing that we decided to release our iOS product using a "freemium" model. The basic features are free for everyone, but if you'd like the Pro features they come at a cost. Anyone who had previously purchased 1Password 4 for iOS was upgraded to the Pro features free of charge as long as they were still using the same Apple ID (not something we were obligated to do, but felt was the right thing to do for our loyal customers).
We believe every man, woman, and child needs to save time and get secure online. This release is another big step towards making that dream reality.
As far as refunds go, all iOS apps are sold by Apple in Apple's iTunes App Store. They are not sold by the individual developers (such as ourselves). Apple's official policy is that all sales are final, but if there is a technical difficulty with the app that cannot be resolved with the developer they will on a case by case basis consider refunds (often also dependent on how much time has passed since the purchase -- generally not more than 30 days). Refund inquiries can be made to Apple here:
http://reportaproblem.apple.com/
Even our own refund policy, for applications that we sell directly, is for 30 days:
https://support.1password.com/money-back-guarantee/
We do certainly appreciate the feedback on this matter. I hope my explanation helps with understanding why things are the way they are. :)
Ben
