iPhone6 1P 5.4.1, iMac 1P 5.3.1. Both sync with Dropbox. Mac shows 221 items, iphone shows 250. Both show syncing Primary Vault, although iPhone shows another vault "1Password" under the "Primary". Primary has checkmark.

Should I just delete the vault on my Mac?

    Hi @JustJan,

I'm sorry you're having trouble with Dropbox sync! I think it should be fairly easy to get it back up and running correctly again, but I first I wanted to say you should not delete anything from 1Password on your Mac (at least, not yet). That might complicate things a bit, and there's likely a much simpler solution.

I have a feeling the problem is either that Dropbox sync has been disabled somewhere, or that your Mac and iPhone are syncing with two different data files in Dropbox. To start, please check if Dropbox sync is enabled in 1Password on your Mac and iPhone:

On your Mac, open 1Password and go to the menu for 1Password > Preferences, then click the Sync tab. Does that show your Primary vault is syncing with Dropbox? If not, follow these steps to set up Dropbox sync.

On your iPhone, open 1Password and go to Settings > Sync. Does it show that the Sync Service is Dropbox? If not, follow these steps to set up Dropbox sync.

If Dropbox sync is already set up in 1Password on your Mac and iPhone, but the sync isn't working, follow these steps to make sure they're syncing with the same keychain file in Dropbox:

    On your Mac:

    • Open 1Password and go to the menu for 1Password > Preferences
    • Click the Sync tab
    • Check the file path for the 1Password.agilekeychain file

    On your iPhone:

    • Open 1Password and go to Settings > Sync > Sync Service
    • Check the file path for the 1Password.agilekeychain file (underneath Current Sync Method / Dropbox)

If the problem is that one is syncing with a different keychain file than the other, you'll need to disable the sync, then set it up again and choose the correct keychain file.

You also mentioned your iPhone shows a secondary vault (I'm assuming you see that in Settings > Vaults). From the Vaults screen, tap the 'i' button next to the secondary "1Password" vault. Does that show it's currently syncing with Dropbox? If so, you can tap Sync Service to see exactly which keychain file it is syncing with in Dropbox.

Let us know how it goes and what you find, thanks!

There is only 1 file in my dropbox and that is 1Pasword.agilekeychain. I think the problem might be that this is a new computer, and I have onlty the trial version running...I tried putting in my license but it kept opening my finder...
    So frustrating.

    Hi @JustJan,

Whether or not you have the license applied to 1Password shouldn't affect how many items sync--even in restricted mode, it should still be able to sync everything. However, I'd like to help you register while we're thinking of it. We've recently made it easier to apply the license file, so I just resent your licenses to you by email. In that email, under 1Password 5 for Mac, you should see a link that says "Click here to apply your 1Password license." When you click that link (with 1Password running and unlocked), it will open a page in your default browser which automatically downloads and applies your license to 1Password.

But again, that shouldn't affect the sync at all. If you wouldn't mind reviewing Drew's post above and answering each of his questions, that would help us figure out what else we might need to try. Thanks!

On your Mac, open 1Password and go to the menu for 1Password > Preferences, then click the Sync tab. Does that show your Primary vault is syncing with Dropbox? - yes

On your iPhone, open 1Password and go to Settings > Sync. Does it show that the Sync Service is Dropbox? - yes

Bot Mac and iPhone show syncing to "1Password.agilekeychain"

You also mentioned your iPhone shows a secondary vault (I'm assuming you see that in Settings > Vaults). From the Vaults screen, tap the 'i' button next to the secondary "1Password" vault. Does that show it's currently syncing with Dropbox - no 265 items, and option to remove vault

    Hi @JustJan,

I think it might be easier if we request a couple of diagnostic reports. It will allow us to quickly understand what is going on.

I would like you to create the following Diagnostic Reports, one for each device. The following guides will assist.

Then attach everything to an email to us: support+ forum@agilebits.com

Please do not post your Diagnostics Report in the forums, but please do include a link to this thread in your email, along with your forum handle so that we can "connect the dots" when we see your Diagnostics Report in our inbox.

Once you've sent the Report a post here with the ticket ID will help us to keep an eye out for it. :)

Once we see the report we should be able to better assist you. Thanks in advance!
