Hi, I'm a long 1password customer, I used on many macs and my original ipod. Now I'm trying to set it up on ipad and it literally disappear. Here is what happened. I downloaded 1password app from app store on my computer. I can see it in iTunes. When I plug-in ipad, I click on install. The app shows in iTunes screen of ipad. Then I see the icon pop-ups in ipad, when installation is finished it disappear from ipad screen. The iTunes "thinks" it is installed, since it shows it as installed. But I can't find it anywhere in ipad. I can see in settings 1password, but it has no settings and only screen "Allow 1password to access. Backgroun App refresh". That's it. How I can fix the problem. I did reboot ipad many times hoping to see hidden app, but it does not show up. Please help. Thanks, Valentin.

  • Hi @vkuznet,

Unfortunately, this sounds like an iOS bug. I've heard of this happening with others, with various apps. But I have a few questions/suggestions

    1. Search for 1Password in spotlight. Pull down on the home screen and search there. Does it find it?
    2. If you open the App store app and find it in your purchased apps section, can you open it from there?
    3. Do you have Parental Restrictions turned on? If so, can you turn it off, and see if it comes back, and then turn it back on again?
    4. Finally, from what I have read concerning this issue on other sites, backing up your iPad, resetting it, and restoring worked.

Hi @hayesk, following your suggestion I found that the problem was in restriction settings. I never thought about it. It is listed as 17+ and I only allowed 12+ to let kids use ipad. Can dev team discuss this and lower the threshold? Anyway, big thanks for your suggestions and now my problem is fixed. Valentin.

  • Hi Valentin ( @vkuznet ),

We'd love to be able to lower the age requirement, but Apple requires we set it to 17+ as our app includes a web browser, and as such is subject to content from all sorts of places. As it is unlikely this Apple policy will change in the near future, it is likely 1Password will retain a 17+ rating so long as we continue to include a web browser within the product.

We do certainly appreciate the feedback!

    Ben

Hi Ben, yes I understand. But least you can do is to add this issue to your FAQ that others will be aware. Thanks for excellent product. Valentin.

@vkuznet: On behalf of Ben and the rest of the team, you're most welcome! And thank you for your support. We couldn't do what we do without you!

I've added this information to our knowledgebase (although it won't be 'live' on the website for probably a week or so) in case others run into a similar issue. Cheers! :)

  • Good morning @vkuznet. I just wanted to follow up on your message and let you know that as of today 1Password is rated 4+. I hope this helps!
