Software update crashed 1 Password 5 for Mac

I have a MacBook Pro running Yosemite 10.10.3 & Safari 8.0.5. I have been running 1 Password 5 with no problems. I recently got and message that there was an update & I installed it. Ever since 1 Password 5 won't open & I get error message.

Please let me know what I can do to get my 1 Password 5 back in service. Thanks

    Please try this:

    1. Drag the 1P app to the trash (don't use any app cleaner tool, which is likely to try to delete files you need to keep).
    2. Empty the trash and reboot.
    3. Re-download and re-install 1P.

    Hi Stephen & Drew. Yes I followed the steps & believe I'm back in business. One follow-up question: when I bought my original 1 Password I got an actual alpha/numeric "key". I can't locate a corresponding license "key" for my 1 Password 5 which was a free upgrade from the 1 Password 4 I purchased in Oct. '13. Can you help me locate it. Thx again for great products & a solid support mechanism. Chris

  • Hey @Chris32. I'm glad to hear that you're back in business!

    1Password 4 and 5 no longer use a license key. Instead, 1Password is now registered with an applet. Go ahead and enter the email you purchased your license with into this site to request your license be resent to you:
    https://agilebits.com/store/licenses

    In the receipt email, you'll see a link next to "License:" which reads, "Click here to Apply Your 1Password License." Go ahead and click that and your license will be automatically applied. That should do the trick!

    Peri, thx for the info. I followed your directions & I believe that I got the 1Password 5 License properly applied. Once again Agilebits has a robust support system which is greatly appreciated.
