Since licenses are sold on a per-platform basis, you'll need to buy a separate license for Windows, since that's a different platform from iOS.

thanks, but I find it strange that licenses are sold on a platform basis. I like to buy a licence that I can use on a number of devices with different platforms

    Hi @hwinsemius,

The various stores we work with mean that isn't possible. For example in Apple's MAS and iTunes store there are two options, free or paid (either upfront or in-app). What we can't do is offer a free download that is tied to a licence purchased elsewhere, that will have us removed from their stores entirely. I don't have any experience with the Google Play Store but I wouldn't be surprised if it is similar there. So no matter what, we already have a fractured eco-system composed of very separate locations. For those platforms that we can sell directly, that is Mac & Windows, we do offer the possibility of a discounted licence for both in our store.

The alternative is a crippled app on the various platforms, something that requires either another piece of software or a server that we control. We didn't like that idea and instead wanted it where you only pay for the platforms that you use and no matter what platforms those are, the application wasn't hobbled. Don't get me wrong, feature parity over the various platforms isn't there yet but it is a goal of ours. We are trying to bring them into harmony even if it takes a while.

I can understand the appeal of pay once, run everywhere but we didn't want to saddle everybody with the development costs of all the platforms. Instead you pay only for what you need.

You may very well have follow up questions or observations and we welcome your comments
