Update for 1Password for Mac 5.3.1 - yes or no

I hold a 1PW license, operate Yosemite 10.10.3 and 1Password 5. I am receiving constant update notices for 1Password for Mac 5.3.1 (build #531001). Should I do this update or will it result in duplication problems with the App Store version?

You should not really be running both the Mac App Store and the AgileBits store versions at the same time. That does, on occasion, rather upset OS X Yosemite, which gets into a tizzy about which version of 1P mini to launch.

If you have all your 1P data in the Mac App Store version (which gives you the advantage of iCloud sync—not supported by the AgileBits store version) I'd be much inclined to delete the AgileBits store version. Is there any particular reason why you want to run both versions (an ability to trial betas, for example)?

    Hi @PatrickHenry,

If you're only running 1Password for Mac (MAS) then you really shouldn't be getting that message at all, the code relating to updating isn't in the MAS version because Apple take care of this.

If you're unsure at all which version contains your items then it might be worth sending in a diagnostic report.

I would like you to create the following Diagnostic Report.

Then attach everything to an email to us: support+ forum@agilebits.com

Please do not post your Diagnostics Report in the forums, but please do include a link to this thread in your email, along with your forum handle so that we can "connect the dots" when we see your Diagnostics Report in our inbox.

Once you've sent the Report a post here with the ticket ID will help us to keep an eye out for it. :)

Once we see the report we should be able to better assist you. Thanks in advance!
