Replacing Dropbox Sync file

I apologize that I wasn't able to find my answer on the forum. I currently sync my Mac with Dropbox. I have two files in Dropbox and the one being synched is not the one I want to use. How do I switch to sync with the other one?

    Hi @4330,

No need to apologize here! We're happy to answer your question for you. :) Switching your sync file is actually pretty simple, but I just want to confirm a few details first:

    • What is the version number of 1Password that you're currently using? (You can find this information in the 1Password > About 1Password menu)
    • Do you have multiple vaults enabled, or are we just talking about a single vault here?
    • Do you want to replace the data on your Mac with the data in the other Dropbox .agilekeychain file, or is there some data on the Mac that needs to be preserved?

Once we know exactly what you're looking to do, we can get this sorted out in no time.

Hi Megan. I'm using 5.3, purchased in the Mac App store. I do have two vaults, one (the primary) associated with the wrong file, and a second vault that I created with the correctly associated file. I'm good to go with the info in the second vault, but would like it to be my primary and only vault.

    Hi @4330,

Thanks for confirming those details! I think the simplest thing to do here is start fresh on your Mac. We have instructions on how to do that here: Starting Over

This will let you set up 1Password 5 for Mac as a new user, and then you can select the appropriate file in Dropbox for your primary vault.

If you have any questions about this process, please let me know!
