Hi

I've been having strange problems with 1P on my mac.

At least 3-4 times daily I click the safari extension button to fill in a password and it opens a new tab with the message "looking for the 1Password App - it must be installed for the extension to work properly

(it IS installed and HAS been for a very long time)

Then another message appears telling me that I should 'Get the App!"

I'v GOT the app.

I then open the App and it asks me for the password, opens, then I can go back to the original tab and carry on as normal.

I cannot work out what is going on...permissions? I have run check permissions many times...

It happens in all users on my system.

OS X 10.10 - Safari 8.0.7 (10600.7.5)

Help please - it is getting REALLY annoying.

Regards

Al

    Hi @e4mco.uk,

I'm sorry you're having trouble with the 1Password extension in Safari! It sounds like the extension is not making a connection to 1Password mini. Please check the following setting:

    • Open the main 1Password app and go to the menu for 1Password > Preferences.
    • Click the General tab.
    • Make sure the option for Always keep 1Password Mini running is enabled.

If that option was disabled, that would explain why the extension didn't work while the main app was closed (opening the main 1Password app also launches 1Password mini). On the other hand, if that option was already enabled, something else seems to be blocking the connection between the extension and 1Password mini. In that case, you can try the steps here: Troubleshooting communication issues between 1Password and the extension

Does that help at all? Please let us know how it all goes. If there is still a problem after that, we'll continue from there. Thanks!
