1P not starting when I start my MBP

I recently noticed I must manually start 1P Ver 5 (5,3,1) when I start my MBP. OSX Yosemite 10.10.3. I can't find a setting to start 1P when my Mac boots up in the morning. There is a check mark on the Always keep 1P mini running.

Did I accidentally turn something off? Thanks, Rob

    Hi @LakeDaisy,

Do you mean the main 1Password app doesn't open when you start your Mac? Or that 1Password mini (i.e. the 1Password icon in your Mac's menu bar) doesn't automatically start?

The main app isn't supposed to open automatically, but 1Password mini should start running when you start your Mac as long as the option for Always keep 1Password mini running is enabled. If you don't see the 1Password mini icon in the menu bar after restarting, is it possible you have multiple copies of the 1Password app on your Mac? That can cause some issues, even if the extra copy is on a backup drive. Please take a look at these steps to check for (and remove) extra copies of 1Password.

Does that help at all? If not, please let us know and we'll continue from there. Thanks!

Hi Drew. Sorry, wasn't clear. It's the 1P icon on the menu bar that's not showing up. I checked and didn't have any previous copies of 1P on my computer. May not be a problem as I just restarted my MBP several times and the Mini icon appears on the menu bar. You can close this out if you like. If I have further problems I'll contact you again. Thanks, Rob

    Hi @LakeDaisy,

No problem, thanks for clarifying that! In your original message, it sounded like this was a problem every time you started your Mac, but now it sounds like it's working correctly - hopefully it continues to do so. :)

I've noticed that every once in a while, 1Password mini doesn't seem to start automatically when I start my Mac. My understanding is that as long as mini is set to always be running and there's only one copy of the 1Password app, this is due to some strange quirks in Yosemite. Fortunately it doesn't happen very often for me, and I just launch the main 1Password app to solve the problem.

However, if this becomes a common problem for you again, please do let us know, and we'll see what else we can do.
