AgileBits have found that forum support initially is faster, and supports more people as an answer to one can be seen by many. Email support will be provided if needed, the AgileBits staff read the forums.
Are you sure that your password is correct, no issues with uppercase versus lowercase letters or accents.

Hi @mashinhead,
I'm sorry you're having trouble getting set up on a new computer! As a first step, please take a look at the tips in this knowledgebase article to see if they help. You don't need to restore from a backup or start over, but the other tips there might be helpful.
If those tips don't help and you're still having trouble with the master password on the new computer, can you please let us know the following details:
- Are your old and new computers both Macs?
- Are you able to unlock 1Password on your old Mac with your master password?
- Aside from those two Macs, what other devices/computers are you syncing with 1Password (if any)?
- What exact version of 1Password do you have on each Mac? (From the 1Password app, go to 1Password > About 1Password in the menu bar.)
- Is Dropbox sync still set up in the sync settings of 1Password on the old Mac?
- When trying to sync your vault from Dropbox on the new Mac, is the password hint the one you expect to see?
- Do you have multiple vaults in 1Password on your old Mac? If so, which vault are you trying to sync on your new Mac?
Once we know those details, we should have a much better idea of how to troubleshoot this issue. Thanks in advance!
