1 password liscense problem
hi.. i was given 1 password years ago by a friend.. this is when 1 Password was just being released and he was allotted a license to pass on and it was I who received it.. its taken me a while to catch on but now I want to take advantage of this great software.. I updated my 1 password and it tells me I have only a free one month period to use it.. then I try to add my key but it won't take it and I see my friends name on the license...although I assumed it was my license... how do I proceed...should I use his name on this license?showing in my computer as opposed to my own..
thanks DH

Hi @dhstudio,
Thanks for writing in to us. I am sorry to hear about your update troubles. Can I ask what version of Mac OS X you are running? (Apple menu -> About this Mac)
The latest version of 1Password 3 is 3.8.22, which was released last May. If you are running into problems with the in-app updater, you can download the latest build from the "legacy" section on the bottom of our downloads page: https://agilebits.com/downloads. Simply download the app from there and then move the app into your Mac's Applications folder, overwriting the one you have.
You might also be interested in knowing that this is not the latest version of 1Password itself, which is now up to version 5. You can learn more about the newest version and its features on our product page: https://agilebits.com/onepassword/mac, and you can see your upgrade options on our store page: https://agilebits.com/store/upgrade.
Hope that helps. If you have any follow-up questions feel free to let me know in thread!
Cheers,

Hi @dhstudio,
I have merged both of your posts into one thread in the Mac forum because they're related, and we'll be able to help you better in one thread than in two.
I've found your license in our records, and it is for 1Password 3 for Mac. As Mitch mentioned above, it will be helpful for us to know what version of OS X you're running on your computer in order to give you the best advice on going forward with 1Password. Thanks!
