Item Sync Order.

Hi there,

Every time I create an item on my desktop app, for example a bank account and change the fields to suit my needs:

Account name
Customer number
Account number
Sort code
etc...

When it syncs and I open it on my iPhone the order it rejigged:

Account name
Sort code
etc...
Account number
Customer number

If I then edit it on my iPhone it pops up with all the fields I originally deleted and then messes up the order on the desktop copy to the way it was originally on my iPhone!

The account is being sync'd via Dropbox.

Anyone know why?

TJ.

  • Hi TJ ( @tamjames75 ),

Sorry for the difficulty. Could you please let me know which version of the iOS app, and which platform and version you're using on the desktop?

I just tested this with the 1Password for Mac 5.4 beta and 1Password for iOS 5.4.2 beta and it seems to be working correctly in both directions for me, so perhaps this was fixed in the beta.

    Please let me know.

    Ben

    Hi Ben (@bwoodruff),

    Thanks for your reply.

Is a bit annoying as the information is out of order and can't fix it, the versions are:

iOS 8.3 V5.4.1 and Yosemite 5.3 both from Apple App Store.

I'm guessing as I bought the desktop copy through the app store I can't download and test beta versions as I don't have a physical serial number.

    Regards,

    TJ.

    Hi @tamjames75,

I suspect @bwoodruff may be testing our OPVault rather than .agilekeychain sync container. The .agilekeychain is now a good couple of years old and unfortunately it doesn't allow for custom ordering of default fields. The OPVault container that we will eventually be migrating to does.

There are two possible options at this point. iCloud sync doesn't make use of the .agilekeychain container - it's more like the local solution as I understand it, an encrypted database. We could also show you how to switch to the OPVault container. Now this option is easier in the beta but it's possible using the MAS version too. It would require disabling sync, changing a preference and then re-enabling sync. Both of these would respect the field ordering even for default fields. Let us know what you think and we can help with the steps if required
