Unlocking the 1Password window on osx,freezes when i type in the wrong password for about 30 sec.

Repro:

Latest stable release purchased from app store.

  • use the shortcut (cmd+opt+\) to bring up the last pass dialogue.

  • type in an incorrect password
    EXPECTED:

  • an alert immediately says wrong password or something of that nature

  • I am able to try again

  • I am pleasant and not frustrated at all.
    Actual

  • Nothing happens, but the 'waiting' multi-color osx spinner comes up over the last pass dialogue

  • I cannot re-input my password for about 30 sec - 1 min.
  • I get a little frustrated with the app.

    I'm sorry you're having some trouble unlocking 1Password! I haven't been able to reproduce the problem you described. I'm not sure why that's happening for you, but I'm sure we can figure it out.

    • use the shortcut (cmd+opt+) to bring up the last pass dialogue.

    I'm assuming you mean the 1Password dialogue, right? ;) Are you using a web browser when you do that, or another (non-browser) app on your Mac? If you're using a web browser and have the 1Password extension installed, try using the ⌘\ Command+\ keyboard shortcut. Does the same issue happen when unlocking 1Password that way? Also, if you use your mouse to click on 1Password mini or the extension, then enter your master password, does it make a difference? I just want to make sure if the problem is related to the keyboard shortcut or not.

    Also, if you open the main 1Password app and try to unlock it with an incorrect master password, what happens?

    It will also help if you can let us know the following:

    • What exact version of Mac OS X are you running?
    • What exact version of the 1Password app is installed? (From the main 1Password app, go to the menu for 1Password > About 1Password)
    • If the problem happens when using the 1Password extension in a web browser, what web browser are you using, and what version?
    • What version of the 1Password extension is installed in your browser?
    • Have you tried restarting your Mac?
