Windows / iPhone / Dropbox Sync Incompatibility or Bug?

Hi. I'm having a dropbox sync issue i can replicate every time. I have set up a ton of logins in the latest Windows version. of 1password (both current and tried latest beta too). Everything works great. I then enabled the Dropbox sync and attempted to sync via dropbox to my iPhone 6 running the latest iOS 8 build. Nothing comes over to iOS via dropbox. However, if i add something in the iphone, it does seem to sync back to Windows.

When i set up Wi-fi sync, that works fine. I've reset all data on the phone multiple times and i am a knowledgeable dropbox user. Clearly there seems to be a bug in the dropbox sync from Windows to iOS via dropbox. Help is appreciated!

    That is quite strange as I haven't heard of any similar reports, and my own Windows machines are syncing just fine with my 1P data in Dropbox (as are my iOS devices). Could you please let me know which file format you are using for 1Password (Agile Keychain or OPVault)?

    Using Agile Keychain. Just replicated it again. verified that the files are on dropbox under /apps/1password/1passowrd.agilekeychain. when you connect with the app, it does ask for the master password and then "appears" to sync but when it finishes, no data is there in any of the screens (logins, cards, etc). I do use multiple folders but i have purchased the "pro features" on the ios side and the settings show that Pro is "Purchased".

    I don't know if you provide live support but i have a webcam, skype, etc and would be happy to show you this issue first hand.

  • This may seem like a silly question, but I ask because we've seen it happen before -- Are both devices logged into the same Dropbox account?

    Nothing comes over to iOS via dropbox. However, if i add something in the iphone, it does seem to sync back to Windows.

    This part is particularly interesting. Obviously if they were signed into different accounts you would not see this. Can you still confirm this behavior?

    yes i can confirm that behavior is still happening. and they are most definitely the same dropbox account. I just did the same thing on a fresh install on an ipad. same exact behavior. It asks for the master password and says it synced but no logins, credit cards, folders, etc appear.

    if you can send a private email to removed i can easily show you the issue live using skype or another web meeting service of your choice.

    And i just added my apple id login to my ipad and it immediately showed up in windows under "unassigned". But any new additions in windows do not sync out to the ipad. again, i can replicate this every time on multiple ios devices!

    Thank you for the offer. Before we get that far, can you please try selecting File > Repair 1Password Vault from the 1Password menu on Windows?

    Good news! I did a repair, installed the latest beta and tried it. The ios app asked me if i wanted to "merge". I did a merge and it works now. thanks for the help. not sure what it was but i seem to be ok!
