Migrating from iPhone4s to iPhone 6 - PROBLEMS

I am replacing an iPhone4S with an iPhone 6. I "installed" 1Password on the iPhone 6 by doing a cloud install from the "purchased" section of my App Store account. Installed fine. Booted 1password in the iPhone and set up a new vault and password. I then booted 1Password on my Mac and tried to do a sync via wifi. The iPhone app saw the Mac, but gave me the following error when I hit the Sync Now button

Sync Problem
The operation couldn't be completed.
(com.agilebits.onepassword.ErrorDoma
in error 7003.)

Please advise how to correct. Wifi sync was working fine with the iPhone 4S.

Thanks.

  • Hi @Feashman,

Could you please let me know the version number of 1Password on each device (including the Mac)?

    Thanks!

    Mac 1Password version 4.4.3
    iOS 1Password version 5.4.1
    Mac OS version 10.9.5

  • Please update to 1Password 5.4.2 on iOS and see if that helps. :)

    Thanks!

Uh, the latest release in the app store is 5.4.1.

  • Hi @feashman,

No it does not. Also there is no version 10.10 for iOS. Perhaps you are thinking of Mac?

I meant to say Mac OS and corrected it above. I am running Mac OS 10.9.5 which means I can't update 1Password to the level 5 version.

However, I have the latest rev of 1Password on the iPhone and the latest rev possible under Mac OS 10.9.5. Syncing did work with these same app revs with the iPhone 4S. Only change was the hardware.

Is there a way to delete the vault on the iPhone and start over?

  • My apologies @Feashman, you are absolutely correct. I was looking at the latest beta version, which is 5.4.2 (which is what I have installed).

I am running Mac OS 10.9.5 which means I can't update 1Password to the level 5 version.

Correct, but 1Password 5 for iOS should sync with 1Password 4 for Mac over WiFi.

Is there a way to delete the vault on the iPhone and start over?

There is. You can do so by deleting and reinstalling the iOS app. I'd recommend making a backup first, just in case:

Please let us know how it turns out.

OK, I deleted and reinstalled 1Password on the iPhone. I then rebooted the Mac and the iPhone. Set up a vault with the same password as that of the Mac.

Tried a wifi sync and get the following error message.

    Sync Problem
    The operation couldn't be completed.
    (com.agilebits.onepassword.ErrorDoma
    in error 7010.)

This appears to be a new error from that which I reported hove.

Strange as this was working on the old iPhone.

    Thoughts?

  • @Feashman,

It sounds like you selected the option to create a new vault when installing 1Password, vs the option to sync an existing vault?

Problem solved. I hadn't noticed that I had to reenter the security key (into the iPhone) that is generated on the Mac. All is well.

  • Perfect. Thanks for the update, @Feashman. Glad to hear that worked out.
