1 password using Dropbox in Indonesia
I recently started using 1 password, synching through dropbox.. I'm leaving for Indonesia in a couple of days and am getting nervous because while there last year I got locked out of my dropbox account and could not get back in for some reason.. Does anyone have any experience using 1 password with dropbox in Indonesia?.. I know this my be a dropbox question. I will try to contact them as well.. Someone told me that Indonesia may use some sort of firewall.. This was an issue while visiting China last year as well.. How secure is 1 password while traveling to other countries in Asia and Africa?.. Thanks for any help you can offer..

Hi @derbecki33,
I can't comment on Indonesia and Dropbox I'm afraid and given the urgency I would suggest asking in Dropbox's forums too.
You're sadly correct regarding China, they have blocked Dropbox and it is no longer an option for anybody living in mainland China.
As for the security aspect. Your vault is encrypted when it is stored in Dropbox or similar and it is only decrypted locally, even if you use 1PasswordAnywhere (it's all stored in memory). So as long as you trust the machine you are working on then you should be safe.
Sorry I couldn't say anything more on the Indonesia part of your query and I hope you find an answer

If you doubt about the acces to Dropbox you could copy the vault on a Memory card. In Countries that banned out Dropbox or iCloud you have to find other ways to save your vault.

A flash drive is one approach although it's a shame there is a one-stop solution. Obviously you can take a flash drive wherever you go but there are countries where they can demand your passwords and the safest approach is simply not to cross their border with data at all :(
The last time I went abroad I actually copied a backup to my server and then scp'd the file once I arrived. Probably a tad paranoid I admit and not for everybody but it works for me.
