Hello everyone,
i initially didn't`t want to use iCloud sync because i am of the opinion that a local wifi sync would be safer.
Then again i had problems because i need to sync more than one device ( Imac, Macbook Pro and Iphone) and was kindly informed that this isn't supported (yet?). Is this still the case ? Or is there anything planned to make this possible ?

I would still prefer doing my sync this way.

Anyways due to this information i switched to iCloud sync, which does`t work either.
I bought my 1password 5 directly on your homepage and not in the app store and have now read, that only the app store Version is supposed to support iCloud sync. Is this really true ? What is the point in that ?

I have rebooted my phone and mac numerous times now have disabled the sync option and have reenabled, but nothing works...

Please someone help me out here. I really looked forward to this program so much and now nothing really works as intended for me.
Thank you very much for your help !!!

@InterestedNewbie2015 I have taken the liberty of editing your post so it displays rather better. There was a rogue character which upset the formatting.

    Hi @InterestedNewbie2015,

I'm sorry for any confusion about the sync options in 1Password! I'm sure we'll be able to help get things working for you one way or another. First, to answer your questions:

...i am of the opinion that a local wifi sync would be safer.

Yes, that is still the case: Wi-Fi Sync is designed to work between a single computer and one or more iOS devices. This is because Wi-Fi Sync uses a client/server model - 1Password on your Mac is the server, and 1Password on your iOS device(s) is the client. This means you can't use Wi-Fi sync directly between two or more computers. Some users get around this by syncing an iOS device with one Mac, and then switch to sync it with the other Mac. However, we don't recommend that because it requires you to disable & set up Wi-Fi sync again each time you switch. Disabling Wi-Fi Sync throws away certain sync/context data. New context data is re-created when you set up Wi-Fi sync with the other Mac, but each time that happens, 1Password has to treat the device and computer as if they've never synced before, which can potentially generate conflicts.

If you don't want to (or can't) use iCloud or Dropbox sync, another option would be to use Wi-Fi sync between one Mac and your iPhone, and keep the Macs in sync using the Folder sync option with another cloud sync service.

Anyways due to this information i switched to iCloud sync, which does`t work either.

For iCloud sync, 1Password 5 uses Apple's new CloudKit technology, which can only be used by apps sold through Apple's App Stores. We'd absolutely love to be able to include that in the AgileBits Store version of 1Password as well, but unfortunately that's not currently possible. We have more information about that in these knowledgebase articles:

I have rebooted my phone and mac numerous times now have disabled the sync option and have reenabled, but nothing works...

I'm not sure I understand - which sync method are you now trying to set up, and what happens when you try to do that? If you can give us more details about what you're trying to do, how you're trying to do it, and what happens, we'll be able to help figure that out.

Please someone help me out here. I really looked forward to this program so much and now nothing really works as intended for me.

I'm really sorry you've been having such difficulty with this! Have you considered using Dropbox sync? That would work automatically between your Macs and iPhone, similarly to how iCloud sync would work. We are very confident about storing 1Password data in the cloud, as your data file is encrypted with an exceedingly secure encryption algorithm called AES. We have more information about the security of your 1Password data in the cloud in this knowledgebase article.

I hope this helps to clear up some confusion, and explain your sync options. We'll be happy to help you get things set up and syncing properly if you can let us know which sync method you're trying to use, and where you're running into problems. Thanks!
