1Password syncing with two separate keychains in Dropbox

Hi,

For some reason it appears that I have two separate keychains created by 1Password in my Dropbox.

The 1Password app on my iOS devices is syncing to Dropbox/Docs/1Password/1Password.agilekeychain

whereas 1Password on my Mac is syncing to Dropbox/1Password/1Password.agilekeychain

How can I consolidate the above two keychains so that all syncing happens with 1 keychain across all devices?

Thanks
Dayal

    Hi @dayal,

We have a couple of options available and it depends partly on the status of your vaults.

If one of these vaults contains everything that the other does and that wiping one copy of 1Password would lose you nothing then we can show you how to start over on one device and then have it pull your vault in from just one .agilekeychain.

If both vaults contain items you need to keep and you need these vaults merged we can do that too. This is as simple as disabling sync on once device and then pointing it to the other .agilekeychain. It will ask if you wish to merge and proceed to do so.

Say you want to copy the Mac vault to your iOS device. You would first follow our How do I start over with an empty vault? (iOS), delete Dropbox/Docs/1Password/1Password.agilekeychain and then follow our Existing 1Password user (iOS) guide, pointing it to Dropbox/1Password/1Password.agilekeychain.

If you want to do the reverse, copy the iOS vault to your Mac it would be, How do I start over with an empty vault?, delete Dropbox/1Password/1Password.agilekeychain and then follow Finding existing 1Password data during setup (Mac), pointing it to Dropbox/Docs/1Password/1Password.agilekeychain.

If you wish to merge I'd suggest How do I switch to Dropbox Sync from another method? and I'd probably recommend doing this on your iOS device. Docs is an unusual location while the Mac is using one of the two default locations.

If you have any follow up questions do please ask and we'll do our best to help
