1password install on new mac. Can't sync over wifi or iCloud. Help!
I'm installing 1password on new Mac. I have my primary vault on my iPhone. I cannot sync to find my existing Vault. When I hit the "more information" button during installation procedure, it goes to a dead link on the 1password site: I get the 404 not found. The dead link is, "https://support.1password.com/guides/mac/finding-existing-1password-data-during-setup.md".
I'm using Yosemite on the new Mac and ios7 on the phone

Hi @Tracy M,
One area of weakness is setting up 1Password as an existing user. If you were going from Mac to iOS you could use Wi-Fi Sync but it doesn't work as well if you're going from iOS to Mac.
If you're running iOS 7 that would suggest 1Password for iOS 4.5.3 on your iPhone. That means we can't use a backup from the iPhone. It would also eliminate iCloud as an option due to iCloud compatibility issues between iOS 7/1Password 4 and iOS 8/;1Password 5.
If you're not keen on the idea of Dropbox then what I would recommend is creating an empty vault on your new Mac, using the same Master Password as you use on your iPhone. Once you've done that you will be able to enable Wi-Fi Sync. As the vault on the Mac is empty this first sync will simply pull the contents of your iOS vault to your Mac's vault. After that it will be a proper bi-directional sync.
If you have any questions at all please don't hesitate to ask

This worked. I suspect this is a fairly common scenario (iPhone sync to new Mac), and there could be the above fix built into installation process.
Thanks for the response.0 -
Hi @Tracy M,
It is an area that could be improved, no doubt about it. I'm glad we were able to help resolve the issue for you. Hopefully you can now enjoy 1Password on both platforms
