1Password can't access DropBox w correct login (unknown iPhone in DB settings)
I used to be able to sync my iPhone via the 1Password master file that lives in my Dropbox (still works fine for my Macs). After reinstalling 1Password on the iPhone I asked it to sync with DropBox, entered the DB login info it asked for but got a failed msg even though I know I'm using the correct login info. The problem might be that in the DB settings the "valid" aka "listed" iPhone is out of date and the actual one is referred to as a "unknown iPhone" How do I correct this?

Hi @pauld2011,
Using your login credentials for Dropbox, are you able to log into your Dropbox through their dedicated iOS app? It's free and available in iTunes. If you can log into their app that may help you with 1Password. If their app is installed we authenticate ourselves against the app and that may help bypass whatever this issue is.
Do let us know how this goes and if it makes a difference or not

Thanks, I just did that (logged into Dropbox through dedicated iOS app) but when I go to Security settings in the web browser interface for my Dropbox account the i(info) next to the unknown iPhones says "These devices are logged in but haven't identified themselves yet" what to do?
btw I deleted the old iPhone from the list as it was an old 3gs long gone

Just now I see that the DropBox settings (seen via the web browser) have updated to recognize the iPhone (yay!) but in when I go to the settings in the iPhone app, I try to turn on Dropbox sync, it turns on but gets stuck on that screen, I can't go back to the main settings page. If I go back to the iPhone home screen, then return to the 1Password app settings, dropbox sync has been turned off. This happened several times

Hi @pauld2011,
Could you please confirm for me which version of 1Password for iOS you have installed?
Thanks.

wow it's 3.5.2 ouch but I wasn't prompted to upgrade, what's the best way to do that?

Hi @pauld2011,
The first thing you should do is check the App Store's purchased tab and see if it'll allow you to download 1Password 3.7.2 for iOS, which will make upgrading to 1Password 5 for iOS ( http://j.mp/1PasCS ) much easier.
If it does allow you to update to 3.7.2 you can use the first set of instructions here:
https://support.1password.com/upgrade-ios/
If not, you will likely need to follow the second set of instructions.
Please let us know how it turns out!
Ben

I don't see a "purchased tab" in the iPhone version of the App Store, nor is 1Password listed there in the Updates tab. However if I connect the iPhone to my Mac the iTunes interface shows 1Password listed among my iPhone apps, but there is nothing I see to help upgrade. Re the 2nd link/set of instructions - so much of that seems to be about saving/migrating the data, but in my case the data lives (1Password.agilekeychain) in dropBox on 2 Macs I have. I don't do data entry using the 1Password app, only on the Macs, I just want that dynamically reflected on the iPhone. Is there a simpler way to upgrade?
Thanks,
Paul

In that case, yes, there is. You'd simply uninstall the old app, install the new app, and set up Dropbox syncing (you'll be prompted to do so upon first launch).
You can read more about 1Password 5 for iOS here:
https://guides.agilebits.com/1password-ios?v=5
Thanks!
P.S. The Purchased tab is within the updates tab, at the top.

Perfect! Thanks for the update. Glad to hear getting updated to the latest 1Password has resolved the issue. :)
