iOS keyboard default prevent accessing 1password extensions on iOS Safari

Ran into a login webpage that pulls up iOS keyboard automatically. By having the iOs keyboard auto appear, this prevents the user from accessing the share button and enabling 1password extensions to auto-fill. There is no way to hide the iOS keyboard.

    Hi @Mytone,

Could you supply the URL please, we'd love to see what it's doing.

Normally I see a Done button on the right hand side, just above the keyboard. Is that missing? That usually hides the keyboard and is what I would do on iPhone where it doesn't have the hide button that iPads seem to have.

This is a secured website: caseview.ucsfmedicalcenter.org/caseview.aspx

No, done button to hide keyboard.

It works on 1password's browser, but on on Safari. I think maybe it's websites that auto prompts the cursor into the username & password fields. That's when you get this weird iOS keyboard with no none button.

  • Thanks, @mytone. This sort of authentication is called HTTP Basic Authentication, and unfortunately Safari wouldn't let us fill it even if you could access the Share button. Fortunately most websites have moved to more modern methods of authentication, but there are some that are still lingering.

Thanks for the clarification. All these private websites must be using these old authentication methods.

BTW Please, please, please bring back the auto-submit :(

  • Thanks for the feedback. :) We'd love to be able to bring back auto-submit, but unfortunately I don't have any news to share at this point.
