1password master password working on some devices

my 1password master password has bizarrely ceased to work on my computer, although it still works on my phone. any thoughts?

    In order for us better to guess what might be the problem please tell us:

    1. what version of 1P you are using on your Mac (go to 1P > About 1Password and tell us exactly what it says there);
    2. what version of 1P for iOS you are using (go to the 1P Settings screen and look towards the bottom for the version number);
    3. your OS X version number and your iOS version number;
    4. how you sync your 1P data (Dropbox, iCloud or wifi).

    Thanks Stephen - answers as follows:
    1. 4.1.2
    2. 5.4.1
    3. 10.8.5 and 8.2
    4. I dont. I did it once when I put on the mobile app. i dont do it regularly. (probably happily so in this case as i would have no access to my stuff if i had....)
    By the way I dont remember anything I did that might have changed the password , and the hint is for my original password - the one that still works on the phone

    Thanks Stephen. I did actually look at the article yesterday but this didnt jump out at me. funny how a day makes a differnece. I did restore from a backup that was a couple of months old and the password still works. a good deal easier than creating a new vault. Thanks so much for the help and the speed of response.
