Does TOTP extend to prior 1Password Releases?

No, sorry, TOTP support was introduced only in 1P5.

What happens when secure notes with One Time PINs are opened in earlier releases like 1Password 4 or 4.5. for iOS?

"You can set up Google Authenticator so that you can generate verification codes from more than one device.
Make sure that you have Google Authenticator downloaded on all devices that you want to use.
Go to the 2-Step Verification page. new window
If you've already set up Google Authenticator for your account, delete that account from Authenticator so you can start fresh. If you have not yet set up Google Authenticator, skip to the next step.
Follow directions as usual to set up 2-Step Verification for the mobile app, making sure to either scan the generated QR code or enter the generated secret key on all devices that you want to set up.
Check to make sure that all devices are working correctly by entering the verification codes from each device and clicking Verify. Then click Save."I am attempting to see if I can achieve a Google Authenticator functionality which is to get OTP spread across devices.

Hi @wkleem,
What happens when secure notes with One Time PINs are opened in earlier releases like 1Password 4 or 4.5. for iOS?
Because earlier versions of 1Password have no way to understand what that TOTP field means, it will not display correctly and you will not be able to access the TOTP code.

You can certainly have the OTPs spread across devices. The latest versions of 1Password for all platforms have the capability to view your TOTP entries. :)

Megan, It can be spread across devices, just not old 4 years old devices. :-( iOS 9 is set to be demoed at WWDC. It's almost a certainty that some additional devices will become unsupported.

It wouldn't be completely out of character for Apple to drop some older devices from iOS 9's supported list in order to bring new features and improvements that won't work on those devices, agreed.
