my ipad hasn't been updated after i been waiting for 5hrs

Just give us a little more information so that we can help, please. Please tell us:
- what version of 1P you are using on your Mac (go to 1P > About 1Password and tell us exactly what it says there);
- what version of 1P for iOS you are using (go to the 1P Settings screen and look towards the bottom for the version number);
- your OS X version number and your iOS version number;
- how you sync your 1P data (Dropbox, iCloud or wifi)—I'm assuming wifi, but please confirm.
If you are trying to use wifi to sync it would be helpful to know any error message you're getting. If you haven't done so yet please try re-booting both your Mac and your iPad.

We're more than willing to help but we will need some more details to go on. The questions Stephen_C asked will help us at least understand your situation a little better and then hopefully we can figure out what has happened.
