Dropbox sync question

Hello,

Wonderful application, thank you so much for the work and support. I use it on my Windows machines, iPad, iPhone, and MacBook Pro. I have it sync to Dropbox across the devices. One thing I noticed is that if I change some items, such as master password or other passwords, on my MacBook Pro it syncs with Dropbox just fine. But when I login to 1password on my iPhone I have to hit "sync" manually. Otherwise it wants my old Master Password etc. Is there a way to have it sync on every start-up automatically?

  • Hi @Qwik,

I'd like to ask you to create a Diagnostics Report from your iOS device:

    https://support.1password.com/diagnostics/ios.html

Then attach the entire file to an email to us: support+forum@agilebits.com

Please do not post your Diagnostics Report in the forums, but please do include a link to this thread in your email, along with your forum handle so that we can "connect the dots" when we see your Diagnostics Report in our inbox.

You should receive an automated reply from our BitBot assistant with a Support ID number. Please post that number here so we can quickly track down the Report and ensure that it is dealt with quickly. :)

Once we see the report we should be able to better assist you. Thanks in advance!

    Ben

I think (if I understand you, which I may not) the issue you describe is expected behaviour when you change the Master Password, but it should not occur if you are just changing other items.

Were you just testing, or did you really want to change the master password (on several occasions, perhaps). Once you have a strong master password, there is no good reason to change it.

@danco: That may be. It depends on the version. Certainly this was more complex with older versions of 1Password for iOS, but it isn't clear which one we're dealing with here.

@Qwik: Also note that simply disabling Dropbox Sync in 1Password on your iPhone and then setting it up again may resolve the issue, as you'll be asked for your new Master Password in that process, and once that vault is unlocked they'll synchronize that as well. I hope this helps! :)
