Attachments do not sync

Hello,

very simple: Attachments do not sync. I bought a news MacBook and do not see the attachments in my entries. Same with 1Password on my iPad and iPhone. Attachments are visible on the "source computer", my older MacBook Pro.

My setup: 1Password version 5.3, Mac version 10.10.3, Sync type iCloud.

Any idea?

    @John_user: It sounds like you might either be using an old version of 1Password on your iOS devices that didn't support attachments, or it's version 5 and you haven't unlocked the Pro Features, but without some basic information I'm really just speculating.

    I hope you don't mind, but I've moved this discussion to the iOS category of the forums.

    Since the issue you're having is on the iOS devices, could you tell me which iOS and 1Password versions you're using there? :)

    Hello brenty!

    Thanks for your reply! I am using the version 5.4.2 on my iOS devices with Pro-features unlocked. iOS version is iOS 8.3.

    And I have the same problem on my new MacBook (no attachments there either).

    If you add a new Secure Note on the MacBook Pro does that item appear on the iOS device and the MacBook?

    @John_user: I wonder if there might just be a misunderstanding here. If you do not have any attachments on your Mac, they of course couldn't be sync'd to your iOS devices either. And since attachments cannot be added in 1Password for iOS, that would mean you simply don't have any to begin with.

    Please try adding an attachment to an item on your Mac as bwoodruff suggested and let us know how it turns out! :)

    Hello guys,

    I currently do not have access to my "source" MacBook Pro. This topic is all about the sync of attachments of 1Password entries on my old MacBook Pro to my iOS devices and my new MacBook.

    I can tell you that the generell syncing works (number of entries are the same on ALL devices) just the attachments are not getting synced.

    For example: I made a screenshot from a software license key on my MacBook Pro and attachment is as a .jpg-file to the 1 Password entry with further information about that program (where I bought it, what the price was, etc.). I can see this entry on my MacBook and my iPhone in 1Password, I can also see the name of the attachment (the jpg-file) but when I click/tab on it, it just says "Loading". That`s it.

    I hope its clearer now.

    @john_user: Ah, I see. The concern is that if your 'source' device doesn't have the attachments either they won't sync to the others. The fact that you see the 'preview' image of the attachments but cannot open them indicates that the files themselves are missing.

    The best thing to do would be to use the 1Password Troubleshooting tool to generate a diagnostic report and send it to support+forums at agilebits dot com so we can look at the logs to determine exactly what is happening. Just be sure to include a link to this forum thread and your username in the email so we can 'connect the dots'. We will get to the bottom of this! :)
