How to setup 2 iOS devices, 1 apple ID, and separate vaults?
My wife and I share an Apple ID but we both have our own separate iOS devices (iPhone 5s and iPhone6). Until this point we have both been using separate installations of previous versions of the free 3.7.x manually backing up regularly over wifi (old website method). This has worked fantastic and has kept our passwords and data completely separate - exactly what we need. My wife had some phone issues and now we can't really get the older version working properly (restore from Mac didn't work) but in any case it's time to start using the newer versions. I am willing to pay of the Pro version but I am very confused about the master password and how / when it would need to be used.
Basically here is what I need to work - Purchase pro version, setup 2 vaults that are exclusive, one that would be synced via iCloud to my Wife iPhone, and the other vault would be synced via iCould to my iPhone - no Mac or any other devices in the mix. No sharing of vault unlock passwords. Is this possible with current versions and setups? If so can a have a detailed explanation on how to configure it.
Hopefully that makes sense.
Thanks!

Hi @edelbug,
I'd be happy to help you with this.
I am willing to pay of the Pro version but I am very confused about the master password and how / when it would need to be used.
Regardless of whether you have purchased the Pro features or not, the Master Password is the key to 1Password, both literally and metaphorically. In v3.7 a PIN protected your data and the Master Password only needed to be entered to view items marked with 'high' security. This concept no longer exists in v5. Your data is encrypted with your Master Password, and 1Password must have it in order to decrypt your data. That came come either from you entering it directly, or, 1Password can store it temporarily in the iOS keychain if you enable a PIN (if your device is not Touch ID capable) or Touch ID (if it is).

I'm a bit confused on this point. What are you looking for iCloud to do for you if you each have your own device that you want to hold your exclusive vault? In any event -- iCloud is intended to be used by one person per Apple ID. It isn't designed to be a multi-user per account system. In addition it does not support multiple vaults. It can only sync one vault per iCloud account (Apple ID).
If you do need to sync Dropbox would likely be your best option but I'd like to get a little better understanding of why you'd involve sync at all for this setup.
Backups can be accomplished through iTunes:

In my case, I sync to Dropbox. I don't use a computer. I may not always be able to use the iCloud back up. I have already found it necessary to restore my phone as a new phone. No iCloud back up. Many people prefer setting up a new phone from scratch without the old back up from iCloud. The device tends to run better that way. So there are reasons to sync, even though it seems there's no reason to to so.

The OP mentioned he has a Mac, but you bring up a good point I'd like to address.
Dropbox is a great sync solution, and may in some cases serve as a backup, but it may not be a complete replacement for another backup method (such as iTunes backups). For example, if you delete a record you didn't intend to delete, Dropbox probably isn't going to help. But having an iTunes backup from prior to that deletion would.
Thanks for chiming in!
