Best Way To Copy/Share 1Password To Another PhoneWith Different iCloud ID.

Hi!
I have my 1Password synced to Dropbox. As an extra measure, I want to add my passwords to the 1Password app on my Wife's phone. She doesn't use it. It has not been set up at all. We share the same iTunes ID. But iCloud, iMessage, and FaceTime are different. Is there a decent way to migrate the passwords from my 1Password to the one on her phone? No computer. Would I have to share each one separately? All 90? Or is there a better way? Thanks!

  • Hi @ledsteplin,

You could sync her 1Password installation with your Dropbox account:

    Thanks!

Thanks, Ben, for your suggestion. I wondered if that might work. One more related question. My Dropbox app on my iPhone does not allow access to the 1Password files. I get a pop up. But when I access Dropbox in Safari on my phone, it allows access there. Would the Dropbox app be an issue? There is no Dropbox app on her phone. So should I just log in to Dropbox without the app? Also, to do this, can her 1Password app have a different master password from my app? Thanks!

Do you mean 1PasswordAnywhere? If so, yes, it does not work within the Dropbox app.

The Dropbox app is not required to sync 1Password for iOS with Dropbox.

Also, to do this, can her 1Password app have a different master password from my app? Thanks!

Not if you'll be accessing the same vault on both devices, no. The vault is encrypted with the Master Password, so only one Master Password will decrypt the vault.

    Thanks!

It works identically be it Mac, Windows, iOS, etc. There's no way around it, unfortunately. From your/her browser, go to m.dropbox.com and sign in to get 1PasswordAnywhere to work.

Only if she is using a different AgileKeychain.

Thanks, Guys! So I need to log in to the 1Password app on her phone with the same Master Password I use? Then sync with Dropbox using my credentials.

  • Hi @ledsteplin,

She doesn't use it. It has not been set up at all.

If this is the case when you launch the app you'll be asked if you are a new or existing customer. You'd select the option for existing customer, and setup Dropbox sync. Then you'd login with your Master Password.

If when you launch 1Password you are instead prompted for a Master Password, that would indicate she has setup a 1Password vault at some point (or someone did for her). If that vault isn't needed, you can uninstall and reinstall the app which will get you back to the above mentioned new/existing screen.

    Thanks!
