A security company hit with multiple zero day exploits. I don't understand most of the detail but apparently the hackers exploited a weakness in the OS kernel.

    Indeed. Sadly, this kind of news has been commonplace for years. This only highlights the fact that a motivated attacker doesn't need to take it head-on when there are ways around.
