I'm afraid you need to change from iCloud sync. See this knowledge base article for the reasons why:
Troubleshooting iCloud sync issues
and in particular this section:
Verify iCloud setup and requirements
It may be practical for you to make a quick change to either wifi or Dropbox sync.

Thanks Stephen ... I have already tried dropbox, that wouldn't sync either ... and I don't have wifi as an option on my laptop

I haven't updated to Yosemite yet ... I am still on 10.9.5

Hi @alantimms,
I see that Stephen has already provided you with some excellent advice. Unfortunately, because we're dealing with a mix of operating systems here, iCloud will not be an option for you.
Let's talk a little bit more about Dropbox. Could you let me know what happened when you gave Dropbox a try? Were you seeing error messages? We have a guide that can walk you through the process of switching to Dropbox sync. If you follow these steps, where in the process do you run into trouble?

Hi Megan
I created a folder called One and synched it with dropbox - then uploaded it and tried to sync with the same folder via my iPad ... but it didn't sync
Kind regardsAlan

Hi @alantimms ,
I'm sorry, this must be frustrating for you! This is going to sound silly, but could you go into a bit more detail about what 'not syncing' looks like? For example:
- Are you seeing an error message?
- Are you stuck at a particular stage in the steps that I linked to earlier?
- I see that you mention an item mismatch - does 1Password indicate that it is syncing in the Settings > Sync pane? (Sometimes an initial sync may take a while to complete, depending on the size of the database and the speed of your internet connection.)
The more detail you can provide about what you are seeing, the more quickly we'll be able to get to the bottom of this!

Hi @alantimms,
It sounds like you are trying to access the 1Password keychain from within the Dropbox app on your iPad, rather than setup Dropbox syncing within the 1Password app. That won't work, unfortunately. Please be sure you are following these instructions:
v5 for iOS: https://guides.agilebits.com/1password-ios/5/en/topic/sync-with-dropbox
v4 for Mac: https://learn2.agilebits.com/1Password4/Mac/en/Features/Sync/dropbox.htmlThanks!
