Dropbox isn't syncing my files from my Mac

Sync in preferences on my MacBook Pro shows Dropbox and 1Password.agilekeychain as the sync, and my iPhone shows the same. I checked Dropbox to ensure it's working by dropping a photo in, and it showed up on my iPhone, so it seems to be okay. When I try to sign in on the 1Password app on the phone, it won't accept any of my fingerprints, either, so I have to enter my passcode each time. What to do?

1Password Version: 5.3.2
Extension Version: 4.4.1
OS Version: 10.10.4
Sync Type: Dropbox

To clarify, if I enter something into 1Password on my Mac, it doesn't show up in 1Password on my iPhone.

    Hi @johnfkelly,

Sorry to hear about the trouble syncing. I'd like to get an idea of what data is actually making it to Dropbox.

Please try this test for me: On each device create a new Secure Note that has an easily identifiable name (e.x. "Mac test" and "iPhone test", respectively). Once you've done that, please log into the Dropbox web interface at https://www.dropbox.com/ on your Mac. Open up the 1Password folder, then the 1Password.agilekeychain folder. Inside you should see a 1Password.html file. This is the "1PasswordAnywhere" feature. Log in using your Master Password, and see which of the Secure Notes that you created on your devices show up there.

Please let me know which ones are there and which are not.

As for the fingerprint issue... 1Password does not decide which fingerprints are accepted and which are not. That is something iOS does for us:

    Thanks!

    Ben

P.S. You can learn more about 1PasswordAnywhere here: https://guides.agilebits.com/1password-mac/5/en/topic/1passwordanywhere

Okay, Ben, I did that, and the file from the Mac Test showed up as a new Secure Note, but the one from the iPhone did not. I performed the same folder check on my iPhone, BTW, and, when I went to open up the keychain folder, I got this message:" Problem loading 1Password data file. A key data file could not be loaded and 1PasswordAnywhere cannot continue without it."

    Hi @johnfkelly,

Okay, thanks. In that case I'd recommend A) making sure the iPhone is signed into the same Dropbox account as the Mac, and B) disabling sync on the iPhone and re-enabling Dropbox sync following this guide:

    https://guides.agilebits.com/1password-ios/5/en/topic/sync-with-dropbox

BTW, and, when I went to open up the keychain folder, I got this message:" Problem loading 1Password data file. A key data file could not be loaded and 1PasswordAnywhere cannot continue without it."

This is normal. 1PasswordAnywhere doesn't run properly from within the Dropbox for iOS app. It was designed with desktop web browsers in mind.

    Thanks.

    Ben
