If a new vault is created, what happens to the files in the old vault if not synched with anything?

Files in your old vault are independent of any in your new vault. For example, you can copy an item from the old vault to the new one and but if you change that item in the old vault it will not change in the new vault.

In other words, mere creation of a new (secondary) vault will have no effect on what you have already saved, or will in future save, in your existing, old vault. Those entries will simply stay in the old vault (unless you delete them, of course).

    Hi @N,

Could you please tell us a little bit more about how you are creating this new vault? You've posted in the iOS forums, and at this time, it is not possible to create secondary vaults in 1Password 5 for iOS.

Stephen is correct - if we're talking about creating a new secondary vault in 1Password for Mac, the data in your primary vault remains exactly as is. However, if you're creating a new vault on iOS by removing data or reinstalling the app, then any data that was in the app but not synced will be lost.

Once we know a little bit more about what you're attempting to do, we'll be better able to talk this through. :)
