1P browser Failing to connect when website's secure site not configured correctly
Issue:
I cannot type in www.macworld.com into the 1P browser URL box
This one's pretty to reproduce.
1. In 1P browser on iOS type in the URL box: www.macworld.com
2. 1P browser will try to load https://www.macworld.com
3. Macworld does not have their secure server configured correctly
4. 1P browser will eventually come back with an error message: Failed to load page Could not connect to server OK
5. I type into the 1P browser URL box: http://www.macworld.com
6. The Macworld website loads as expected
What expected:
I expect that if a website's secure site is not set up correctly that it will try to fall back to unsecured instead of this unhelpful error message that most people wouldn't think of to put in an override with http://

Hi @skippingrock,
This is by design. In 1Browser we default to HTTPS for the protocol if one is not specified. You'll note you get the same (or very similar) error in Safari if you try to navigate to https://www.macworld.com/
If you would like to navigate to an explicitly non-SSL website, you'd need to add the http:// prefix to the address manually (1Browser will not add it for you).
Thanks!
Ben

I would like 1P to the tell me specifically that I have to override this by typing the URL with http:// as most users might not know to do this and they are trying to get to a website that only has part of their site secured or has a separate server for the secured parts.

Basically I would like to see unsecured server redirect option. Like the opposite of this post https://discussions.agilebits.com/discussion/comment/220622
"This server is inaccessible on a secure server, do you want to try connecting to the unsecured server? Yes No"

Thanks @skippingrock! I can't make any promises of course, but I can certainly let our developers know about your suggestion. That sounds like it would be helpful in a situation like that (although hopefully it's not something that will happen with too many sites).
We're here for you if you need anything else! :)

Thanks! And I know you are. Thank-you all for all your wonderful hard work. I pimp you wherever and whenever I can. To individuals and App developers. I'm hoping that Pacific Blue Cross takes up my suggestion to integrate 1P into their app. Their web site allows for a password as long as 255 characters, but their app only allows for a very short one. Not great. But I had a call from one of their technical support team that saw the addition of 1P to their Caresnet app as a great idea.

@skippingrock: Hmm. That is pretty strange. Thanks again for your support, and the kind words! We definitely appreciate your feedback, and letting others know how 1Password can make their lives (and their customers'!) a bit easier. Cheers! :)
