Two vaults for two users on one device - How?
Hey everyone,
we have one iPad in our household and want to use 1Password in an efficient way with two separate vaults.
My vault is the primary one and everything is working fine for me. I added my girlfriends vault through a shared Dropbox folder, which is working too,
The problem is: Since my vault is the primary one, my girlfriend has to login to my vault to access her vault - that can't be the correct way isn't it?
Why can't 1Password automatically recognize the "correct" vault through the used master password? Isn't there a better way to use 1Password on a device with multiple users?
1Password Version: 5.4.3

OS Version: iOS 8.4

Hi @xtanerx,
Isn't there a better way to use 1Password on a device with multiple users?
I hate to be the bearer of bad news, but the short answer is no: there isn't.
The reason for this is that iOS devices are designed to be personal devices. The operating system doesn't support the concept of multiple users like traditional desktop OSes (Mac, Windows, Linux, etc) do.
It is very possible to use 1Password in the manner you've described when using individual iOS devices (each person having their own primary vault, and having the other person's vault as a secondary vault), but not when sharing a device. iOS simply wasn't intended for that, unfortunately.
Sorry I don't have the answer you were looking for.
Ben
