Upgrade lost my DB?

I primarily use 1Password on my iPhone as my 2FA device (replacement for Google Authenticator). As such, I don't need to use it very often. I just launched the app and it's asking me to create a new unlock code and master password. This implies to me that some recent upgrade (I noticed the icon has changed) lost my DB. Since I don't use iCloud to sync my DB, how do I resolve this?

Okay, this is weird. I went into the Appstore app on my iPhone and hit 'open' there on 1Password and it worked fine. It seems there are somehow two versions of 1Password on my phone?

  • Hi @mike1234,

Do you have two separate 1Password icons on your phone (perhaps one is hidden in a folder)?

    Please let me know.

Yeah, looks like that's what has happened. I have the old icon and the new, both called 1Password.

  • Okay, great! Well, great at least that we figured out the confusion. :) Which version has your data? If the new version does you can simply delete the old version. If the old version does, we'll want to get that migrated over:

Seems the new one has my data. So I'll just delete the old app off my phone to avoid confusion. Thanks for the help!

  • You're very welcome! If there is anything else we can do, please don't hesitate to contact us.
