Zendesk Firefox OS X
Hi there!
I try to use 1Password with Firefox on my mac. Most login form work great but some don't.
When I try to login to my zendesk account the firefox extension doesn't fill in the form.
Is there a way to fix that?
Thanks.

Hi @Julian007,
I'm sorry you're having trouble with one of your logins! If this is a problem with a specific site, you can try following these steps to save a new Login item for that site. Does the new Login item work correctly?
If not, it will help if you can let us know a few more details:
- What exact version of Firefox are you using?
- Have you tried using the same Login item in another browser? If so, does it work?
- What is the exact URL for that Login item in 1Password?
- Are you opening the Login item from the main 1Password app, or from the 1Password extension in Firefox?
- Does it work if you open the Login item from the main 1Password app?
- Does it work if you go to the website first and then use the 1Password extension to fill your username/password?
- If you're using the extension, do you click on it in your browser's toolbar, or do you use the
⌘\
keyboard shortcut?
Thanks!

Hi,
I tried to create a new login but it has no effect. Generally speaking the plugin for Firefox works around 80% of the time. The other 20% it does not react to the cmd+# shortcut and often does not fill out the form even when I click manually on it. I reinstalled the plugin 3 times so far.
The exact version of Firefox is: 39.0
It works on Chrome & Safari
The URL is: http://support.richlife.de/access/unauthenticated?return_to=https://richlife.zendesk.com/agent/dashboard
I open it from the Firefox extension
It does not work from the main app
Does it work if you go to the website first and then use the 1Password extension to fill your username/password? - No
I tried clicking the toolbar and unsing the shortcutThanks for your help!

Hi @Julian007,
Thanks for the additional details! Although I don't have an account on that site, I tested it by entering some random text in the email and password fields, then followed these steps to save a new Login item for that site in Firefox. 1Password was able to fill that form correctly every time I tried (I used the keyboard shortcut, clicked on the extension and chose the Login, and also opened it from the 1Password app). So I'm not sure why it isn't working for you, as long as you followed the same steps that I did.
One thing you might want to do is save a new Login for that site using this URL: http://support.richlife.de/access/unauthenticated (it appears to be the same thing, just a shorter URL)
I don't know if that will make a difference for you, but it's worth a shot. If that doesn't help, you can try installing our latest beta version of the 1Password extension in Firefox (which is what I'm using):
- Open the following link in Firefox: https://agilebits.com/onepassword/extensions
- Click the link for Enable betas (underneath the Install button)
- Click the big green Install button and follow any additional steps
Once the beta extension is installed, restart Firefox, then try again to fill the fields in that login form. Does it work this time?

Hi,
I tried both. It works without the url parameters, but after I log in I see a blank page, because the system does not know where to redirect me. The beta version had no additional effect.
Do you have any other ideas?

Hi @Julian007,
I hope you don't mind, but I've moved this discussion to our "Saving and Filling in Browsers" forum for some additional help, since this is turning out to be a bit trickier than I thought it would be.
So, just to make sure I understand, it sounds like the extension can fill the login form (although you end up on a blank page) here: http://support.richlife.de/access/unauthenticated
...but still does not fill the form here: http://support.richlife.de/access/unauthenticated?return_to=https://richlife.zendesk.com/agent/dashboard
Is that correct? When I tested this earlier, I saved two different Login items (one for each URL I listed above) and when I opened the 1Password extension from either URL, it suggested both of those Login items (both Login items worked to fill the fields on both URLs). Are you being given a choice between those two Login items as well? If so, do they both fill the form on the shorter URL but not the longer URL with parameters?

Hello,
I am a avid 1Password user and I kinda roll with most of the issues, but it seems like every since Yosemite and 1 Pass 5, it is hit and miss to what will open and auto fill. I have Zendesk with Zopim logins, and the logins are in new small winidows and will not open and fill in the login. However;, it will autologin randomly. But, I also have Freshbooks account that opens in a new window and works fine. Hope someone can help. E0 -
Greetings @erickirkhuff,
I've tried looking into what @Julian007 was experiencing but as is always the annoying case, I couldn't reproduce on my own system. If you're wondering why I said that was annoying, if I can reproduce then at least there is a fighting chance of understanding and then looking into correcting.
Now I don't know about the specific websites that you've mentioned but if the URL stored requires a link to be clicked to open up the login pane then yes, 1Password will likely fail. The open and fill feature will only attempt to fill the page that is loaded and cannot interact with the page e.g. open new panes before trying to fill the fields. If it's a standard kind of page where we should be able to fill as soon as it has loaded then we would be interested in investigating, assuming the login page is public and we can take a peek. As I'm assuming it's about filling just being able to load the login page is all we need for testing purposes.

I would try to see if you can get a login for Zendesk or Zopim. Something has changed and it used to work just fine. These guys did not change their softeware since it has been not working. e

Greetings @erickirkhuff,
Just so there's no confusion at all though could you confirm the URLs please. I'd hate to waste your time by finding testing the wrong thing. I have seen instances where there were different sites which as you can guess caused no end of confusion. This way you know we're looking at the right ones.

Here is a generic login that I can give you, obviously, I do not want people banging on my login.
https://support.zendesk.com/?_ga=1.3045040.1234572975.1441129897
I got it at https://www.zendesk.com/demo/0 -
Hi @erickirkhuff,
Thanks for the URLs! We don't actually need your login information (i.e. username & password), we just needed URLs for the sites where you're having trouble.
The first URL you gave was https://support.zendesk.com/?_ga=1.3045040.1234572975.1441129897, which seems to be the same as https://support.zendesk.com/. When I go to either one, I need to click the "Sign in" link at the top to see the login form where I can enter username (email) and password. I put some random text in those fields and saved a Login item, and 1Password is able to fill those fields correctly (I can't actually sign in because I don't have an account, but the filling seems to work correctly). This worked the same way for me on both of the URLs above.
If 1Password isn't correctly filling the login form on https://support.zendesk.com/ for you, please try saving a new Login item for that site by following the steps in this knowledgebase article. Does the new Login item work correctly?

In my busy life I and given up and today I had a few moments and resolved the issue and this discussion helped.
1. Logged into Zen, chose forget me
2. opened the Zen login, I entered user name and password as new but did not click login.
3. I then right clicked on the 1Password Browser tab and selected NEW LOGIN. that is the key
4. Then i hit login on the page
5. 1 password asked me for the new name and i named it
6. then i logged out and said forget me and tested it,
7. It worked!!
8. this works well for the zopim login.
9. Now I love 1Password again.0 -
