  • Hi @scwerden,

Sorry for hear about the trouble. I'd be happy to help. I need a few more details to do so, though.

What sync method are you currently using?

What are the symptoms of the sync not working?

Do you sync your iPad with iTunes on the Mac?

    Thanks.

Hi Ben, Thanks for your help.
Synch method is thru Drop Box on my Mac
DropBox on iPad reports ERROR "Problem loading 1P Password Data file...."
    No iTunes involved

  • Thanks, @scwerden. There shouldn't be any issue syncing 1Password 5 on iOS with 1Password 4 on Mac.

DropBox on iPad reports ERROR "Problem loading 1P Password Data file...."

I would first suggest making a backup of your 1Password data on the iOS device:
    https://support.1password.com/ios-itunes-backups/

Then please try turning Dropbox sync off then back on.

    No iTunes involved

Unfortunately in that case it is not possible to downgrade. Syncing over an older version of 1Password from iTunes on the computer would be the only way to downgrade.

Will try that - Synch is now paused on Mac - will turn it on later.
    Thanks

  • Please let us know how it goes. :)

Turned synch back on this AM, saw that Dropbox had some action on Mac. Opened Dropbox on iPad, refreshed Recents page saw several items noted in list. Also was one with extension .1Password but nothing had changed in the one entry I particurally need to refresh.
    Q. Would it be easier to delete 1P form iPad and get a new copy - there is nothing on iPad that needs to go to the Mac.
    Thanks again for you help
    Stowell

  • Hi Stowell ( @scwerden ),

Yes, if there is nothing of importance that exists only on the iPad then removing 1Password for iOS, reinstalling, and then re-establishing sync would be the easiest way to proceed.

    Thanks!

On iPad deleted old 1P, got new, confined path to DropBox, but can't get past Welcome page on iPad. Any ideas?

  • You can try following this guide:
    https://support.1password.com/guides/ios/existing-user.html

If you are still having trouble... I'm not sure I follow what the issue is / where you are getting stuck. Could you please elaborate?
