Touch ID not working on iPad Air 2, iOS 8.4.1

After restarting my iPad Air 2, I want to use 1 Password with mobile Safari. I go to the share menu and manually enter my master password. Next time I go to use it again in Safari, I still have to enter my master password. If I go to 1Password settings, disable touch ID, and then immediately re-enable it, it works. But obviously I don't want to have to do that every time.

  • Hi @bobk,

In order to utilize Touch ID in the extension you must first use it in the app at least once. Generally you only need to do this once after each time the device is restarted.

    Thanks!

Do I understand you correctly that to use the Touch ID extension, I have to:

    1. Manually log into the app
    2. Leave the app
    3. UseTouch ID to log into the app
    4. THEN go to the web page I originally wanted to log into?

If that's so, it's very inconvenient.

Also, what exactly do you mean by "generally"?

  • What I mean is that once each time you restart the phone (or whenever the Master Password is removed from the iOS keychain -- see 1Password > Settings > Advanced > Security > Require Master Password) you will need to unlock the app first before Touch ID will be enabled in the extension.

    Thanks.

    Ben
